So Now, Then:
2003 - This is the 18th year of otakunization for Raider3, having declared himself an “Otaku Ambassador,” and having spent the last couple years refining his focus on the key aspects of fandom, and why he got into anime fandom in the first place. Network R3 has moved into the big time with the acquisition of paid hosting service in February 2003, marking the actual launch of the next evolution of the collected Raider3 personal / fandom / global project site network, hereafter located at www.raider3.com.

This year is shaping up to be a busier con season than the previous years, with no less than four major events in the works for what is being unofficially called the Network R3 2003 Con Season Tour:

Apr. 4-6: Sakura-Con - Seattle, WA
May. 16-18: Anime Central - Rosemont, IL (Staffing in Con Ops)
Jun. 20-22: Fanime Con - Santa Clara, CA
Oct. 3-5: Ani-Magic - Lancaster, CA
Plus some smaller events during the year, most likely Para-Con, Metreon Festival of Anime (When dates are announced for both), any events planned in the cosplay/bay area fandom community, and hopefully, Recca Con, if they are able to return, despite the setback as the result of decreased college funding in the wake of California's latest financial woes. (Thanks, Gov. Davis, I know you didn't plan on this, but shit rolls downhill... The story of my life... ~_~)

So, for now, the plans are in motion to gear up the Raider3 machine to revive and expand Network R3 and develop the media arm, now known as Production R3, and to plan for the current year... Who knows what will happen from here?

I may not always love you, but long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it, I'll make you so sure about it
God only knows what I'd be without you...

If you should ever leave me, well life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me, so what good would living do me?
God only knows what I'd be without you...

Brian Wilson/Tony Asher, God Only Knows -- The Beach Boys, a wonderful song from the Pet Sounds album.
Featured near the end of P.T. Anderson's motion picture Boogie Nights. (If you watch it, you'll understand.)
