August 23, 2003 - Robert W. Crown State Beach - Alameda, CA

The pictures in this section conform to the Raider3.com Picture Standards (version 1.05), with the exception of the following:

  • Images are not watermarked with “©raider3.com,”
  • and reproduction permission has been granted for use elsewhere by participants of the 2003 Cosplayer Picnic. Feel free to link back here.

And now, a Happy Ending...
Towards the end of the gathering, those in costume gathered for a group shot. I opted out of it, since I've been in enough pictures so far this year, and I wasn't completely in costume.

And so, I took my place on the line with the other photographers. This is the 12th and final shot. I have the other 11 prior shots, as people were getting into the group after taking their pictures, or having their cameras held by us to take pictures. I've saved all those for the outtakes page following this one.

Here's a cute little shot of Aoshi_Shinomori with our Cosplay.com friend Kimiko_chan/Kimiko_desu.

Did I mention that practically every square foot of grassy area at the beach was seeded graciously with goose crap? Just when things were winding up, those damn geese came in for a bombing run, but fortunately, none of us were hit.

You know, now that I look back on it, I think RenegadePocky's boyfriend had the right idea, chasing those pesky buggers off with his prop sword, but the Alameda Police didn't see it that way. Remember, folks, be SMART with your props, don't do dumb things with them, or you'll be the featured perp on “Cosplay Cops,” a skit idea I'm currently tinkering with.^_^;

And sadly, like the picnic coming to an end, this marks the end of my photos of the picnic. Check the next page for outtakes and credits. See you next zig!
