July 13, 2003 - JapanTown (Peace Plaza) - San Francisco, CA

Status as of 6-15-2004: (Damn, it has been a while, hasn't it?)
Entire section is being fixed and finished. Quotes may appear shortly after all the pics get hammered down into the templates. All con pictures on raider3.com conform to Raider3.com Picture Standards. (version 1.08)

San Francisco - Summer in the City, one week after Anime Expo, and cosplayers are looking for a way to ride out the post-con blues! Peace Plaza in San Francisco's JapanTown provided the best forum for our group to show off our costumes! The weather was as clear as it could get for the city by the bay, and surprisingly warm. (At least for me, still recovering from the sauna-like environment of Anaheim the week before. ^_^;)

A small group of us gathered in the early afternoon for pictures, and had the chance to meet the faces behind the nicknames at cosplay.com, as well as have an opportunity to check out what was available in regards to shopping and dining, but let's face it -- It's all about the pictures!

This impromptu cosplayer gathering took place on Sun., July 13, 2003

The Gear:
Olympus D-380 2.0 Megapixel Digital Camera
Handspring Visor Platinum (For gathering notes, info, email addresses, etc.)

A wonderful view facing southward, capturing the shop and restaurant corridor across Buchannan, taken from the base of the Peace Plaza tower. It's amazing how crisp and blue the sky was that day!
And the same view in portrait format. I had a lot of time to kill, having arrived on scene around 11 am. I had time to have a leisurely paced sit-down lunch at Umeko, in Miyako mall, which was to my right from this picture.
I was bored, and really worried it was called off. So, here are my wonderful collection of con badges, dating back to 1997...
...and my watch, the official R3 timepiece, date/time documenting the event, and just moments before the second cosplayer arrived!
Here's LuckInSpades (Quite the card!) as Sepiroth from Final Fantasy VII, taking quite a few liberties with the character. (C'mon, people, it's not like girls haven't crossplayed as Sepiroth before!)
More Sepiroth as you've never expected. (Yes, I'm running out of quote ideas as I fix these pages, but I'll recover shortly!)
